Black Pepper Extract (Piperine)

Supports absorption of key actives

A standardized black pepper extract (~95% piperine) used in RESET and VITALIZE to support absorption, so key actives reach meaningful levels.

What is Black Pepper Extract?

Black pepper extract is standardized for piperine, a bioavailability enhancer used in small amounts to support the uptake of certain nutrients and polyphenols. In Cellaro, piperine is included to help achieve more consistent systemic exposure from ingredients such as resveratrol and curcumin.

How piperine supports cellular processes

(rename from “How it works” for consistency with Quercetin, Fisetin, Curcumin)

Many plant compounds, including resveratrol, quercetin, fisetin, and luteolin, are limited by first-pass metabolism in the gut and liver. Piperine has been shown to temporarily modulate intestinal transporters and metabolic enzymes involved in conjugation, such as glucuronidation. This can allow a greater fraction of select compounds to cross into circulation.

In human pharmacokinetic studies, the addition of piperine has resulted in higher blood exposure at the same dose of resveratrol. This is why Cellaro includes a small, targeted amount of piperine in both RESET and VITALIZE — to support more reliable uptake during both short pulse protocols and daily use.

Benefits

  • Supports absorption of select polyphenols, including resveratrol and curcumin

  • Helps promote steadier, more predictable systemic exposure

  • Works in the background, without stimulant effects at the amounts used

Why it’s in RESET and VITALIZE

RESET (monthly pulse)
Supports the bioavailability of senolytic-relevant flavonoids such as fisetin, Quercefit® quercetin, and luteolin during the short, targeted 2-day protocol.

VITALIZE (daily)
Supports uptake of NAD⁺-aligned actives, including resveratrol and other polyphenols, helping daily supplementation translate into consistent exposure over time.

Research snapshot

Human pharmacokinetics — resveratrol with piperine
In human studies, piperine increased resveratrol exposure (AUC and Cmax) at the same oral dose, supporting its role as a bioavailability enhancer.

FAQs

Can black pepper extract be taken daily?

Yes. Piperine is widely consumed through food and is commonly used in supplements at low, targeted amounts. In Cellaro formulations, it’s included at conservative levels designed to support absorption rather than act as a primary active, making it suitable for daily use when taken as directed.

Does it make all ingredients absorb better?

No. Piperine mainly supports compounds that are limited by first-pass metabolism in the gut and liver. This is common with certain polyphenols and flavonoids such as resveratrol, quercetin, fisetin, and luteolin. It does not broadly increase absorption of all nutrients.

Does piperine have stimulant effects?

Piperine is not a stimulant. At the low, targeted amounts used in Cellaro formulations, it works quietly in the background to support absorption without affecting energy levels or nervous system stimulation.
